IT'S OFFICIAL – Chicgao Rock Café is the best bar/club in Essex according to the listeners of popular radio station, Essex FM!
The radio station’s breakfast presenters, in association with Stena Line, have been looking for local people’s nominations for their Best Of….competition.
Listeners from across the county were asked to contact the station to vote for their favourite destination in Essex which included a shopping centre, restaurants and much more.
Breakfast presenters Martin and Su have been revealing the winners of the Best Of competition all this week and this morning Chicago Rock Café’s general manager was woken up by the pair shouting their congratulations!
Calling a very sleepy general manager Jonathan Hempstead at around 7am, the presenters revealed he had won the title of Best Bar and a £1000 prize.
“We are ecstatic – what a way to start the morning,” he said.
When asked why he thought the venue had won the title, Jonathan added; “It has got to be because we party all the time, after all it’s in our logo that we party, so we make sure everyone has a great time.
“We provide a service for the people, that’s what we are here for, so that must be why we won! Thanks to all the listeners of Essex FM!”
Jonathon added he would be treating the staff at Chicago Rock Café Chelmsford to their full share of the winnings as a reward for their hard work and dedication to providing the best place in Essex to drink, dine, dance and party!
